Transfer your domain name to NetWeaver Print

Moving your domain name to our management allows you to consolidate your billing, update DNS records, and manage your hosting and domain all in one place.

Choose the guide below based on your domain extension:

Option 1: Non-.uk Domains (.com, .net, .org, .io, etc.)

Generic domain transfers usually take 5 to 7 days to complete once initiated, depending on how quickly your current domain registrar releases it.

Step 1: Prepare Your Domain at Your Current Registrar

Before starting the transfer in our portal, you must complete three prerequisites with your existing registrar:

1. Unlock the Domain: Turn off the Registrar Lock (or Transfer Lock) in your current domain control panel.

2. Get the EPP / Auth Code: Request or copy your domain's Authorization Code (sometimes called an EPP code or Secret Key).

3. Disable WHOIS Privacy & Check Admin Email: Ensure Privacy Protection is temporarily turned off and that you have access to the Administrative Contact email address listed on your domain. Transfer approval links are sent here.

Step 2: Place the Transfer Order at my.netweaver.uk

1. Log in to your Client Area account.

2. In the top navigation menu, click Domains > Transfer Domains to Us (or click Store > Transfer a Domain).

3. Enter your domain name in the search box (e.g., mycoolwebsite.com) and click Transfer.

4. In the required field, paste your EPP / Authorization Code obtained in Step 1.

5. (Optional) Update your Nameservers if you want your site to point to our hosting servers immediately upon transfer completion.

6. Click Add to Cart and complete the checkout process.

Note on Pricing: Transferring a gTLD (.com, .net, etc.) includes a 1-year extension added to your domain's existing expiration date, which is why standard renewal fees apply at checkout.

Step 3: Approve the Transfer

• After placing your order, an automated confirmation email may be sent to the domain's admin contact.

• Click the approval link inside that email. Once approved, your current registrar will release the domain within 5 days.

You'll receive an email from us to confirm that the transfer has completed.

Option 2: UK Domains (.uk, .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk)

The Nominet registry handles .uk domain transfers via an IPS Tag. They do not use EPP codes, and the process is usually completed within minutes to a few hours.

Our IPS Tag is: NETWEAVER

Step 1: Initiate the Transfer at my.netweaver.uk

1. Log in to your Client Area account.

2. In the top navigation menu, click Domains > Transfer Domains to Us.

3. Enter your full .uk domain name and click Transfer.

4. Complete the checkout process.

Note on Pricing: .uk domain transfers are free because Nominet does not force a 1-year renewal during an IPS tag change. Your existing expiry date will remain unchanged.

Step 2: Change the IPS Tag at Your Current Registrar

1. Log in to the control panel of the registrar where your domain is currently registered (e.g., GoDaddy, 123 Reg, IONOS).

2. Find the domain management settings and look for Change IPS Tag, Release Domain, or Transfer Out.

3. Update the IPS Tag to our tag: NETWEAVER

4. Save or confirm the changes.

(Alternatively, if your old registrar is unreachable, you can change the tag directly for a small fee via a Nominet Online Service Account).

Step 3: Completion

As soon as your old registrar updates the tag to our IPS Tag, Nominet automatically hands management of the domain over to our system. We will detect the change during its routine sync, and the domain status in your Client Area will update to Active.  You'll receive an email from us to confirm that the transfer has completed.
