Create an FTP account Print

  • 0

Use of FTP isn't very common, so in order to help keep your account safe, we don't add an FTP account when creating your account.

If you do wish to use FTP, first log in to your control panel.

From the 'Files' section, select 'FTP Accounts'.

You'll then be presented with the options to add an FTP account.

We suggest using the password generator to ensure your password is secure.

For files you wish to be available on your website, enter public_html in the directory box.

Finally, click the blue 'Create FTP Account' button to activate the FTP account.

Under the 'FTP Accounts' section on the same page, you'll now have the option to 'Configure FTP Client'.  This will provide you with the details to use in your FTP program or a configuration file to download for our recommended FTP programs - CoreFTP for Windows and Cyberduck for Mac.

You can now follow the instructions for your specific FTP software to upload your files.

Hint - Your default page should be called index.html or index.php.
